After the lineup-changing off-season for ones Toronto Maple Leafs, the historic franchise is back in gear and able to play in the 2008-2009 NHL regular season. The leafs made several important lineup changes this off-season. Ron Wilson was hired as new Head Coach, while Cliff Fletcher, Al Coates and Joe Nieuwendyk filled in as General Manager, Player-Personnel Director and GM Special Assistant, respectively. The workers changes, while large in scale, are the ones the fact that team hopes brings the fresh start required to push Toronto through throughout the Stanley Cup playoffs this season.
Several on-ice lineup changes also came about throughout the 2008-2009 off-season. Defencemen Jeff Finger and veteran goalie Curtis Joseph were put into the Leafs鈥?defensive line. Aside from that, forwards Dominic Moore, John Mitchell and Greg Scott were recruited to participate in the team鈥檚 new offensive line.
With a solidified lineup on and off ice memorized, The Leafs are currently preparing to take on the remainder of the league. The team鈥檚 place to the growing season was hit and miss to this point, winning some games and losing others. However, together with the new backbone it is in place as well as support of Leafs Nation, the c's hopes to elevate their performance this present year producing a run for that Stanley Cup Playoffs.
